J V Price Ltd adds new hydraulic platform to its fleet
J V Price Ltd has just taken delivery from Panther Platform Rentals, one of the
first SkyKing E228TJ hydraulic platforms. This mid-sized platform fits into the
existing fleet by providing access to previously difficult to access areas.
The boom is mounted on a 7.5 tonne Iveco truck and its light and compact design
enables the user to gain access where larger Bronto SkyLift platforms are unable
to reach. As well it is very flexible working to a height of 22m with a reach of
nearly 18m. New features on this model include extra warning beacons for working
on the highway and at night, as well as one side jacking for compact working, especially
useful on narrow roads. This new design has added safety features such as a built
in pressure washer with all hoses running through the boom rather than trailing
on the ground, thus allowing for a balance of weight throughout the platform and
making the cage safer. Having SatNav has also improved fuel costs.
Because the new machine is so easy to use, here it is working the next day carrying
out cladding cleaning on this Guildford Business Park.
Operations Director Charlie Price commented, "The new platform is meeting all our
expectations. It works well alongside our other fleet vehicles or by itself. We
are now able to get access to awkward narrow areas which larger machines cannot
reach safely. We will also be able to pass on savings to our clients in providing
such as a cost effective rig".
