CHARLIE PRICE JOINS NEW STEERING COMMITTEE
Charlie Price, Managing Director of JV Price, has been selected to sit on a new steering committee. It will focus on the Window Cleaning Industry in general, and Commercial Window Cleaning Companies in particular.
A collective body of professionals is always more powerful than an individual or a single company. That is especially true when the body in question is recognised by the government as an authority on the industry. Amongst other things, such organisations can influence regulations, advance the interests of members, and create new operating methods to enhance profit and safety.
In short, a well-run industrial body provides credibility, expertise, influence and access. It can greatly benefit its industry, and the window cleaning industry is no exception to this general rule.
Obviously, the individuals chosen to represent the industry must be experienced, qualified (or working towards qualification), and have a full understanding of commercial window cleaning - especially high level operations.
The Steering Committee Charlie Price now joins was initially chaired by Andrew Willis. Andrew, who has over 30 years experience in the High Level Window Cleaning industry, speaks all over the UK as a leading Independent Working at Height Consultant. He is also a partner in the IMPACT 43 Group, which has the UK franchise to deliver the City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 for the window cleaning industry.
During 2011, the Steering Committee will gain representatives from leading Commercial Property Management Agents, the HSE and the Corporation of London. It will also have representation from the Suspended Access Industry, as Martin Parfett, who was for many years Technical Chairman with SAEMA, will be a member.
An agenda for 2011 is being collated with subjects such as:
- Flat Roof Safe Access And Egress
- Provision, Planning And Organisation For Self Rescue At Height
- Tools Used At Height Including Water Fed Pole
- Repetitive Strain Injury Prevention And Claims
- Suspended Access Equipment Training
- Suspension Trauma
- First Aid Treatment
- Risk Assessment And Risk Management
- Reducing Commercial Paperwork
Charlie Price said: "I am really pleased to have been selected for this committee. I have worked with many of the members and plan to be actively involved with the committee developments. For the first time, this should enable some of the most influential cleaning companies to work together in order to bring about much-needed change in our industry."
